Shenuri

 

The Shenuri (or dark elves) is an ancient race that has made their place in the underground away from those who would oppress them and the sun that hurts their eyes and dries their skin. To read more about them and their society, click HERE.

Beneath the temple is a special hall lined with pedestals. Upon them rest the heads of some of the most famous enemies of the Shenuri that have been taken in the glorious name of Dur Anom.

Located below the Reliad Mountains in the Kingdom of the East in the Hestrillite Empire. This ancient place is one of the oldest in Irith and encompasses miles of diverse underworld communities dominated by the shenuri city of Ina'Che.

Ring of Matrons

The Ring of Matrons governs Ina'Che, which is made up of the heads of seven powerful shenuri families. Their goal is to grow their small empire in any way possible without risking all out war with the surface-dwellers.

Spider Wizards make their home close to the temple of Dur Anom in a thin tower known simply as The Fang. From within, wizards plot to carry out the whims of the leadership and bring greater glory to Ina'Che.

Slave Mines

These deep dark mines stretch many miles below Ina'Che and are primarily worked by duergar slaves. Their job is to dig for the wealth that the shenuri use to fund their mechanizations.

Sacred Spider Pits

Below the temple of Dur Anom are sacred pits that are used in hatching spiders of all sizes. It has been there since the temple was built, centuries ago. The spiders are raised as pets and for consumption of sacrifices to Dur Anom.

Larantuu is located in Kharamis in the Shadow Mountains south of the Tacoble Swamp. They have a tentative truce with the Kharamisians and also an agreement to help one another in times of war.

The Shadow Arm rules Larantuu and is made up of the heads of eight powerful Shenuri families. Their goal is to grow their empire in any way possible without risking all out war with the surface-dwellers.

Dur Anom's Blood

Deep below the temple is a lava-filled cavern. On a small island in the center is an ancient Shenuri blade called "Dironav" that is supposedly held by Dur Anom herself. Future priestesses, to prove their worthiness, must navigate a path of floating stones to the island and touch the sword. Those who can do this are elevated into the priesthood.

Qara Mur is located beneath the Moblea Mountains in the Vohrn Territories. They maintain a shaky truce with the Vohrn orcs, a truce that is often temporarily interrupted with clashes and bloodshed.

The Deep Council rules Qara Mur and is made up of the heads of ten powerful Shenuri families. Their goal is to grow their empire in any way possible without risking all out war with the surface-dwellers.

Deep below the temple is a sacred place where only the High Priestess can go. There is an obelisk with Dur Anom's words chiseled into its surface by the original founder of the city. Nai Lari Pailra.

Rethmonan is located below the Goblin Reaches in Kenitswillow. They tend not to harrass the surface dwelles too much, choosing instead to confine their ambitions to the underdark. They often clash with goblins who live in the area.

Deep below the city is a natural fae portal that allows the Shenuri access to the Fae Realm. It is heavily guarded and only special forays are allowed though the portal for fear of retaliation from the other side.

This subterranean city is located in the Hell Haunts to the south of the Southern Rocroosts in Regdon.

 

Council of Chaos

 

This council is made up from the priestess heads of each of the eight families and is ruled by High Priestess G'Ellice. There are representatives from other denizens who serve the Shenuri, but their voices are more ceremonial than anything else. Their goal is to keep the peace between the families while promoting an agenda of conquest and expansion.

Eyes of Dur Anom

 

Far below the main temple of T'Rissnolu lies a cavern constructed many centuries ago. The cavern walls are lined with thousands of rubies cut into the shape of eyes. The eyes have been blessed by every High Priestess since the place was constrcted and is a most holy shrine to Dur Anom. Only those who are deemed the most worthy are allowed to come here to pray under Dur Anom's stern gaze.

Far beneath Koreltinaar is a cavern that stretches for miles, illuminated by glowing blue gems that bathe the area in a deep azure color. Fields of mushrooms and other subterranean foodstuff are found here, supplying food for the denizens of the city.

Shimmernass

 

Dwelling in a cavernous ice cave near the Szithlin Blight is the ancient white wyrm Shimmernass, and wretched evil entity. Shimmernass has an alliance with the Szithlins. The supply him with treasure in return for his occasional services and protection.
